Mango Lassi

Lassi is a buttermilk based drink which can either be salty or sweet. Mango lassi is a sweet version. It is the most common drink that you can find in an Indian restaurant in North America . It is a big favorite of my kids. When my kids were very young, whenever we ate out, I would have to tell the waiter to bring it around the middle of the meal and not at the beginning since they would drink this and not eat their meal.

Quantity Ingredient
30 oz. Can Mango Pulp (Alphonso or Kesar mangoes sweetened or unsweetened)
1 quart Butter milk
To taste Sugar (or splenda)
2 Cardamoms pods
1 Cup Milk


  1. Mix the mango pulp, buttermilk and milk. You could add/reduce milk to modify the consistency of the drink.
  2. Add sugar to taste.
  3. Remove the skin of the cardamom pods and collect the seeds. Crush the seeds finely and mix with the lassi.
